Well, it has been a little while since I last posted. We have been waiting for the results of the eight week scan from the agency. I contacted the Dr as we were wondering when we would get the results of the scan. The Dr advised me that due to questions that had been asked she was now going to be providing scans monthly rather than fortnightly. So the next scans, the 8 week scans would be conducted at about 10 weeks. We needed to be patient.
We have 2 surrogate mothers under the care of the Dr at the moment. A few weeks ago we were advised that one of the surrogate mothers had an issue with her pregnancy. Unfortunately it looks as if the pregnancy will reduce from 2 to 1 however we will have to wait another week of so to see if this pregnancy will continue or it will end naturally.
We received an email today advising us that the other surrogate mother was admitted to hospital the day before with some bleeding. A scan quickly confirmed that the surrogate mother now only has one live pregnancy. Within the space of a few weeks it appears as if we have gone from 5 to 4 to 3 and now we have 2, one with each surrogate mother.
We now just have to be patient as we only have a few weeks until the 12 week scans. We are very hopeful that the results will be positive.
This journey is not just about us. it is also about providing future opportunities to the wonderful donor and the surrogate mothers and their families. Without their assistance we would not be in the position that we are in today and we for this we are eternally grateful.
Some very sad news today. Little Ben (Benjamin) has passed away. We have been following Ben's progress on this Dads blog, http://samandphilblog.blogspot.com for many weeks. We are both very sad at his passing and wish his parents all the best in their hour of need. All of you (Ben, Zac, Sam and Phil) are our thoughts and prayers.
